I’m taking a trip down memory lane and sharing the shabby chic baby shower we had to celebrate our baby girl. We just got back from our trip to Tennessee a few days ago and I already can’t wait to go back! There really is no place like home. It was the first time in a while Ben and I were able to go home together since he is usually deployed, so that made it extra special finally having him there! While we were in Tennessee we had the best time celebrating Aldyn Olivia’s 1st birthday with all of our friends and family. It really is a reminder of just how fast time flies by. Some days I feel like “It’s only been a year?!”, but after reflecting on the first year of her life, it really goes too fast. It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was getting showered with love from everyone as we all got together to celebrate her big arrival, and now she’s officially a whole year old. Cue the ugly cry!
All the reminiscing had me thinking back to the first ever celebration we had in honor of her. The intimate get together with just our closest friends and family will always be so special to me. It was such an exciting time in our lives and one of the best parties my mama has every thrown for me! We decided to do “a brunch for baby” at one of my favorite restaurants in my home town, The Chocolate Covered Strawberry. It’s the cutest little cafe and boutique and went with our “shabby chic” theme perfectly!
My mother-in-law is an amazing baker and made the cake and all of the cupcakes we had at the shower. I loved the bright flowers and the pearl details. Not only was it a beautiful cake, but it tasted amazing. Her cakes never disappoint!
We also had some of my favorite brunch items offered at The Chocolate Covered Strawberry. Complete with mimosas, and of course…chocolate dipped strawberries!
The party favors were these Botanical Bath Bar’s by Yardley London. Ribbon and pink raffia held on a couple of small fresh flowers and the gift tag that read “from my shower to yours”. I love a good pun people! Not to mention how inexpensive and easy these were to make.
Our moms killed it with these Dollar Store center pieces and homemade cupcakes!
All you have to say is “I want to have a party” and these two are on it! The love we have for entertaining and decorating runs deep in our DNA 🙂
Baby shower games aren’t really my thing, but we did have these cute cards for our guests to fill out all about our baby girl. Some of the questions were funny, and some were guessing when she would be born and how much she would weigh.
These were so fun and had everyone cracking up! Of course I saved them and love looking back on them and thinking about how exciting it was to try and image what our child would be like before we ever knew her.
My husband made a last minute appearance to bring me this sweet gift. He went to Jared 🙂
